Lady Alexandra’s Excellent Adventure
by Sophie Barnes
Historical Romance

It’s going to be a wild ride . . .
Lady Alexandra Summersby is not your average society miss. Not only is she more likely to climb a tree than she is to wear a dress, but she has also sworn off marriage. Alex loves taking chances, which is how she finds herself embroiled in a secret mission as she races across the country with the Earl of Trenton. But Alexandra is about to discover that the real danger lies not in duels, but in her completely unexpected reaction to Lord Trenton’s company.
Michael Ashford, Earl of Trenton, is a man of duty. Honorable, charming, and a hit with the ladies, he’s never had trouble staying focused-until now. Lady Alexandra is like no other woman he’s ever met, and suddenly the prospect of marriage seems far more appealing. Now, to convince Alexandra that a life together could be an adventure like no other . .

→ Opinion | I had so much fun reading Lady Alexandra’s Excellent Adventure! Sophie’s writing has improved since her debut book and I loved how she kept the essence of making it fun, and at the same time, highly enjoyable.
The main characters were terrific, I could relate to all of them. What is very particular about this story is that the heroine, Alex, doesn’t have any female - apparently she was raised only with the company of her brothers, without friends outside the family. This, obviously, collaborated and proved how she was able to stay a secret from society without any gossip running around her unusual activities. It’s definitely something – as absurd as this can sound for the time. I would have liked to see, her behavior around other girls her age – I would’ve loved that piece of dialogue.
I won’t spoil it for you, but the romance between the main couple is totally unpredictable, the story was some little surprises that delighted me! An excellent and romantic adventure indeed!
This is the first book part of The Summersby series- the next one will be about Ryan and will be out in november – how will I wait?!?!
I received this book from Avon in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 5/5

The Page Turner Award – I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it.

Thanks for the great review! This book definitely sounds like something I’d be interested in. I love it when English ladies are written in a more unconventional light…makes them even more intriguing!
