Thanks to Nat for having me over today to talk about my newest novel, Blood Betrayed, Book #2 in the Sons of Navarus series. This second book in the series around eight vampire warriors is about Saint, an outcast in the vampire world but one of the Sons of Navarus and dedicated to protecting his world, nonetheless.
Much of the story in Blood Betrayed is about lost love. Saint is actually a nickname for the hero whose real name is Declan, but his fellow vampires call him Saint because he won’t sleep with any of his vampires, or anyone else’s, for that matter. He hasn’t for almost 100 years. While other vampires, male and female, relish having sex with the vampires they sire, Saint shuns the act because it only reminds him of her.
Her. The woman he loved and lost almost a century before, whose memory is never far from his mind, torturing him with questions and never an answer as to why she left him. Solenne. And now as the Archons have begun their takeover of the vampire world and civil war has begun, Saint’s life is in danger and the only soul on Earth other than his fellow Sons willing to help him is Solenne.
As a romance reader, I love the idea of lost love and the chance for characters to find happiness with one another again. I’m an incurable romantic. The road is never easy when two hearts have a history together, and nothing could be more true when it comes to Saint and Solenne. Each of them is strong-willed and stubborn. And each of them has built a wall around their heart to make sure no one gets in. But if they can forget their past, they just might have a future together.
