I’ve just started reading “Wildest Dreams” by Carole Mortimer (Mills & Boon), where the heroine works for a publishing company and the hero is one of the writers on her list!
For “romantic suspense”, I might look out something by Nora Roberts. I shall give the rest some thought!

6) National Book Month Read a book set in the publishing business, or a book about writing, or one with a character that is a writer, publisher, editor, etc.:
I choose GOLDEN DANCER by Tara Lain (the hero, Mac, is a journalist…it could also count for topic #3, since a heist mystery is involved).
There may be an additional choice/topic TBA, depending on how October shakes out for me time-wise…

GOLDEN DANCER by Tara Lain
Loose Id ebook September 2011, paperback September 2012
BLURB: “Mac MacAllister is obsessed; the online news reporter needs enough evidence to write a story accusing billionaire art collector Daniel Terrebone of stealing The Golden Dancer, a priceless work of art, from son-of-a-Nazi Horst Von Berg. The story promises the recognition Mac craves, but then Mac meets a real golden dancer, ballet star Trelain Medveyev, and his attraction to the man rocks his formerly straight world.
“When the mysterious Terrebone ‘collects’ this beautiful dancer, too, Mac rushes to the rescue like a knight in shining cargo pants and plunges into a three-way passion that tears him between love and guilt. Can Mac keep investigating when his story could send one man to prison and another to the morgue? Will this reporter get his story or get his men?”
REVIEW: Since ballet and art heists are two of my favorite literary subjects, I took to GOLDEN DANCER right away. The “insta-love” among the characters would be annoying in lesser hands, but the leads (especially Trelain) are so attractive and charming that I understood how they felt. Mac’s internal struggles, regarding his long-suppressed sexuality as much as his conflict of interest, are rendered vividly and with great sympathy. The theft itself is almost an afterthought until the end of the story, but patience is rewarded with a thrilling climactic sequence. While the ending may have more than a few people rolling their eyes at its cuteness, it left me smiling at the thought that such a scene can exist, if only in Lain’s imagination. Recommended.

September
Animal: Moon’s Fury by C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp 9/28/12
Rating: 3 stars
Review: Cara is the leader of her pack and not doing very good at it. With the whole secrecy thing it’s just to much. In comes Adam with his wolves as well and the deputy too boot. Well things are bound to get a little crazy between Cara and him. Why because they are fated mates and the clash from the beginning. But working together doesn’t seem to bother Cara and Adam because they are working to stop the killing of the young in both packs. They discover in each other things they like and from there the relationship is easier to manage. I mean they are not biting their heads off whenever they see each other. Now that they get along the monster out there may be targeting them. What will they do to protect their pack?
Urban Fantasy: Juliet Immortal by Stacy Jay 9/24/12
Rating: 5 stars
Review: Juliet is immortal with no body and her Romeo is the one who is trying to destroy her. Through out the ages Juliet has been trying to save love and Romeo is trying to destroy it. During the time when they are called to inhabit a body and save those who love with a passion. But as the school day is coming Ariel the body that Juliet is put into is trying to keep things together when she is on a date with the local bad boy of the school. Shockingly enough the boy Ariel/Juliet is on a date with is Dylan Stroud. While running away from an accident Ariel caused Juliet is persued by her very famous lover of so long ago. That is where she meets Ben. It’s like damsel in distress all over again. But it ends to quickly with Ariel/Juliet back home. Her best friend is a sociopath with very dangerous tendencies gives her a ride to school. But everything just goes downhill from there: first Ariel/Juliet get into fights with the people closest to her, then with Ben the love of her life, and then Romeo does something so unexpected; I can’t even tell you. In the end everything is as Juliet wants it to be with a little realities mixed in.
