Great choices! I’ve read Jess Michaels before and really liked it! I also adore fairytale inspired books, have you read Eloisa James’ series?

      1. Tin @ Love Saves the World

        Hi, Nat!

Yes, I am following Eloisa James’ series. Wasn’t too keen on the last book but really enjoyed When Beauty Tamed the Beast. ^_^

  3. Trix

Happy to be a winner–thank you! (It’s my first time winning here, so I don’t know what the procedure is…anything special I need to do?) Anyway, the male profile on K.A. Mitchell’s COLLISION COURSE cover, while somewhat hidden behind the other bare-chested guy’s outstretched arm, is there nonetheless. So, I choose that one! (There may be others, too, but I’m not sure what yet…)

    1. Nat

You’ll receive an email from the author! Thanks for participating =)

    COLLISION COURSE by K.A. Mitchell

Samhain Publishing (December 2008 ebook, November 2009 paperback)

Blurb: “Immovable object? Meet the irresistible force.

Paramedic Aaron Chase doesn’t have anything against love. It just comes with a lot of responsibility, like when he had to raise his sister and brothers after their drug-addicted mom took off for good. Now that the last one is off to college, Aaron’s anticipating enjoying life on his own terms. He certainly wasn’t expecting Joey Miller to accidentally drop into his life.

Joey’s sexy, funny and annoyingly optimistic, and his tendency to get into trouble keeps sending him Aaron’s way. Even the fact that Joey works for the hated social work system isn’t reason enough to keep him out of Aaron’s bed.

Joey knows all about love. He’s fallen in it ten times—he thinks. It’s not that he can’t tell the difference between sex and love. All that experience has to count for something, right? With Aaron it’s different. Maybe because there’s something to fight for.

This time Joey’s fallen for good. He’s not going to let number eleven get away.”

Review: Even the most jaded m/m devotee will be agog at the frequency of the graphic sex scenes, which often feature locations and practices that are not exactly vanilla. While these would potentially derail the development of the plot in lesser hands, Mitchell makes sure the sex both reflects and develops Joey and Aaron’s characters. Joey is the easier of the two to like right away, with his tendency to fall in love too fast, his conscience, and his resemblance to the insatiable twink porn archetype (although he is really neither, as readers will learn). Aaron seems a wisecracking jerk at first, but as the story develops you learn that he has every right to feel cynical about life’s twists and turns, and he too is softhearted in his way. The story has some very dark moments thanks to the pair’s careers and backstories, and yet Mitchell throws in some great one-liners that had me laughing out loud. There is also suspense right up until “The End” appears, which is a welcome change from many romances (m/m included). I’m eager to read the rest of Mitchell’s Florida series to find out what becomes of some of the side characters. Highly recommended.

Review: Chloe Saunders is a movie buff, in an art school full of them. Until she hit her period and started seeing ghosts everywhere. And on one such occasion Chloe is taken to a hospital and then a group home, where she meets Derek, Simon, Victoria, Rae, and Liz. Although Liz gets taken away a couple days later.
