Character Interview with Luc
by Boone Brux
![]()
Today we have the pleasure of interviewing Luc Le Daun, hero of Kiss of the Betrayer by Boone Brux.
Q: Welcome, Luc. It’s great to have you here.
L: It’s great to be here. Really great.
Q: So let’s jump right in. Jade tried to kill you. How do you get over something like that?
L: Well, there were extenuating circumstances. It wouldn’t have been fair to hold the stabbing against her since I have a few skeletons in my closet as well.
Q: What is the one thing you love most about Jade, and the one thing that irritates you the most about her?
L: The thing I love most is the same thing that irritates me the most—her fierce loyalty to her family. She’ll do anything in her power to help them, yet she’s sometimes blind to the dangers or the fact that she might not be helping them.
I also like the fact that she’s a bit sweet on me. She’s a great judge of men.
Q: You were quite the ladies’ man before Jade got ahold of you. Do you miss those days?
L: No, not at all. Jade is everything I never knew I needed.
Q: Aww, that’s sweet. Would she say the same about you?
L: Of course. Who wouldn’t be love all this? *points to himself*
Q: Hard to resist, that’s true. Tell us about your relationship with Jade’s sister, Rell–before and after your so-called betrayal.
L: I courted Esmeralda. That’s her real name. Rell is the name she now calls herself. We were young. A lot of things have changed since then. She’s not my biggest fan now, especially since Jade and I have become a couple.
Q: I can imagine. A woman’s scorn and all. How did the book get its title?
L: There are a lot of betrayals in this story. Not just from my past, but throughout the book. It’s tough to trust anybody these days.
Q: Did you truly betray Jade’s family?
L: *Scratches chin* I can’t answer that or else I’ll spoil the story for the readers.
Q: Fair enough, at least tell me how your relationship with your father is.
L: It had been very rocky for most of my adult life, mainly from what happened with me and Jade’s family, which I can’t tell you about. Now things are much better. Jade did that for us. She brought us together.
Q: What do you think Vile, the Demon King, has planned?
L: Bless the Saints, I wish I knew. We know he’s trying to open the Abyss of Souls so that he can control the army. We can only assume he plans on overrunning Inness and taking control. But the Bringers have a few surprises for him.
Q: Where do you think the Bringers stand in this upcoming battle?
L: I thought all was lost until Rhys found Ravyn in Shield of Fire. We had no weapons against the Bane, but since she has arrived many new developments have come to light. We’re not as helpless as we originally thought. And I suspect things are not as they seem in the Shadow World. It appears Vile and his son, Icarus, are butting heads. There’s nothing like a good fight between powerful demons to upset the balance of power.
Q: On a lighter note, what do you think of the author, Boone Brux.
L: Now there’s one fine looking woman. If I wasn’t already taken, I’d consider courting her.
Q: No ill feelings about the torture scene she wrote you into?
L: Sure I was angry at first, but everything worked out for the best.
Q: Well, best of luck to you and the Bringers. Hopefully there will be wedding bells in your future.

Kiss of the Betrayer
(Bringer and the Bane, #2)
by Boone Brux
For fifteen years Luc Le Daun has blamed himself for the death of the woman he loved. His secret guilt has led him into a life of danger, risking all and committing to none.
Killing Luc Le Daun has been all Jade Kendell has thought about for years. But when her plan goes awry and she’s brought into the Bringers’ fold, her own dark secret threatens to be revealed. Desire for a better life wars with a promise made long before she understood the ramifications.
In a deadly mission, Jade and Luc embark on a journey into the Shadow World. As they attempt the impossible, ignoring the attraction growing between them becomes harder to deny. The slightest misstep could mean the loss of their souls and give the Demon King exactly what he needs to open the Abyss of Souls and annihilate the Bringers.

As a multi-published and an award-winning author, Boone’s writing drips with experiences from real life. Addicted to anything that might make a good story, she weaves tales that range from dark fantasy to humorous romance. Settled in the icy regions of Alaska with the love of her life and twin daughters, it’s not uncommon to find her tapping away on her iPad on a windy beach or the barren tundra. Be warned, anyone and every event is fodder for one of Boone’s novels.
